Salary Packaging

Employees are able to salary package a range of items other than motor vehicle items, in order to maximize their tax effectiveness.

Certain items attract Fringe Benefits Tax at the full rate, meaning there is no benefit. These items include school fees, mortgage repayments and child care where the centre is not operated by your employer.

Items, such as a laptop computer and its basic operating software (excluding peripherals and additional software) are FBT exempt when deemed predominantly for business use and a business use declaration has been signed by the employer.
